Mavic Unveils Exciting Mid Range Shoes and Versatile All Road Wheels

Mavic, a prominent name in cycling gear, is making a splash in the expanding gravel market with exciting new products. The company has introduced two gravel specific wheelsets and two off road shoes, aiming to strike the perfect balance between affordability and top notch features.

Allroad S Affordable Gravel Wheelset

The Allroad S is the more budget friendly gravel wheelset option. It boasts a 25mm internal rim width designed to handle the unpredictable terrain of gravel riding, accommodating wider profile tires ranging from 30 64mm. Mavic has used its proprietary Maxtal alloy for the rims, employing fore drilling to keep the rim bed sealed and tubeless ready without the need for tape. This technique also enhances rim strength.

The Allroad S is equipped with the ID360 freewheel, known for its lightweight and dependable performance. Additionally, it features the QRM Auto bearing system for long term durability. The Allroad S wheelset weighs 1,790g for the pair and retails for €529.

Allroad SL Premium Gravel Wheelset

Stepping up the game is the Allroad SL, which builds upon the foundation of the Allroad S. It offers a more premium package with a similar rim profile featuring a 25mm internal rim width and 28mm external width. However, the SL rims are 1mm shorter at 21mm and are hookless for enhanced durability. These rims are made from ISM4D, a material that balances weight savings with durability.

Mavic has added the Black Shield coating to the SL rims, providing superior protection against rock impacts and scratches. Like the Allroad S, the SL wheelset features the same fore drilling rim design, making them tubeless ready without the need for tape.

The Allroad SL wheelset incorporates the same freehub and oversized bearing design as the S model to ensure durability and longevity. It weighs 1,655g for the set and retails at €889.
